This is photo WB-1-S, a scene from the AMG film BATHROOM ATHLETE which stars Joe Leitel in the title role, and Charles Butler (far left of picture) and Gedoge Pagart as his mischievous brothers who play a very naughty trick on their older, very conceited brother. The picture is lots of fun, but has no wrestling, though in the last scene Joe gives both of the mischiefmakers a spanking simultaneously. The film lasts for 8 minutes, costs $8 for 8mm, $12 for 16mm. Charles Butler

DOES FREEDOM OF SPEECH GIVE ONE THE RIGHT TO SHOUT: "FIRE" IN A CROWDED THEATRE? This is one of the prosecutor's favorite arguments in defending censorship, when an attempt is being made to suppress ideas, pictures, etc.
Obviously the anology does not fit. In the first statement, the man shouting "fire" is unquestionablyy creating a hazard by his action, but is an idea by itself ever really dangerous? Dictators rightly believe they can hold power only by suppressing knowlege. In America and many of other other democracies the theory of government is that if the poeple have all of the facts they will choose wisely (at least most of the time.)
Unhappily, all of our countrymen do not subscribe to this belief, and many consider themselves peculiarly gifted to determine which ideas: political, relgious and moral, that should be suppressed for fear of "contaminating" others.
Of course, it is not always easy to determine where one's actions
in these three fields may actually constitute a tresspass on the rights of others and it behooves all of us to allow as wide a margin as possible in our own behaviour to make certain we do not unnecessarily offend. For example, though we may find full nudity completely acceptable, we should recognize that our neighbor (and his guests) may be of a background that abhors such a display, and thus should shield ourselves from his view. In tum, said neighbor should respect us and not peer thru his attic window while standing on his tip toes in order that he might be offended and thus have reason to call the police. The US Supreme Court in defining "obscenity" makes a reference to the prevailing community standards. We all know that these vary greatly from one area to another and from one time to another--there is a constant fluctuation. It is an essential part of the belief of our form of govemment, that every individual should have the maximum opportunity to express himself in any way he chooses just so he does not unduly infringe upon the rights of others.

While most of us haven't the slightest interest In most of the material available on many news stands, especially that which lays such heavy emphasis on sex matters in its many forms, why should we be concemed or worried if there are people who do wish such books? As parents, do we have so little confidence in the training we have provided our children that they will have a morbid, unbalanced interest?, Are some of us naive enough to think that we can destroy an idea by suppressing it? If the idea is truly disgusting it will more likely destroy itself through its propogation. "Mein Kampf" hardly made Hitler popular in America and thruout the rest of the non-Nazi world.
Certainly, people musn't shout "Fire" in a crowded theatre--but if they were to shout "Sex!" under the same circumstances they would probably be laughed at and ridiculed, and if they continued to make.
AMG FILMS are not rented. The price is kept low enough to make it possible for customers to buy these outright. Renting would create too many problems-amateurs are too careless with films. GUILD BOOK SERVICE Box 385 Ben Franklin Station Wash 44, DC
